During the development of the DJI Mini 3 series (DJI Mini 3 and DJI Mini 3 Pro), the engineers encountered a problem: they wanted to improve image performance, battery life, and intelligent features but maintain a compact mechanical design.
The challenge was to keep below 249 g weight while expanding functionality. They decided to start with the materials. In order to reduce weight, the arms on Mini 3 series drones were reduced as much as possible, and all the screws were replaced with lighter titanium alloy.
The engineers also spent a lot of time optimizing the physical design to be as efficient as possible to ensure DJI Mini 3 achieves optimal performance, even in windy environments.
